COOAAFRO-RO is strengthening trade relations between Rondônia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) through a series of technical visits made by a Congolese delegation to companies and producers partnered with the cooperative.
Over the course of the programme in Rondônia, the delegation was able to see different parts of regional production, visiting COOAAFRO-RO partner sites and observing at first hand the structure, production processes and supply capacity of each business.
The visits are part of a strategy to show the Congolese representatives the productive potential of Rondônia and to identify concrete business and partnership opportunities. The sectors visited include the production and marketing of food, sugar, beans, cornmeal, animal products, pig farming and other agribusiness activities.
As well as seeing the companies, the delegation was able to talk with producers and business owners, exchanging information on quality, production capacity, logistics, export standards and the scope for meeting the demands of the African market.
For COOAAFRO-RO, the presence of the Congolese delegation marks an important advance in building a trade bridge between Rondônia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The closer contact lets potential buyers see the productive capacity of Brazilian companies directly, while giving the cooperative’s partners a better understanding of what the Congolese market needs.
The series of visits shows that Rondônia has the conditions and the capacity to expand its share of international trade, particularly in supplying agribusiness products.
COOAAFRO-RO continues to work on bringing producers, companies and international markets together, seeking to turn these technical visits into new business opportunities, supply contracts, jobs and income, and a stronger regional economy.
The mission further reinforces the cooperative’s commitment to opening new routes for Rondônia’s production and bringing the state closer to strategic markets on the African continent.
