COOAAFRO-RO accompanied a technical visit by a delegation from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) to a pig farm partnered with the cooperative in Rondônia. The purpose was to show the Congolese representatives how pig production is organised, the rearing systems and the practices followed on the property.
During the visit, the delegation saw the farm’s facilities at first hand, along with handling, feeding, animal care, breeding and the organisation of production. Information was also presented on production capacity and on the scope for expanding trade with the African market.
The visit is part of COOAAFRO-RO‘s strategy of bringing producers and companies from Rondônia closer to potential international partners, creating new business opportunities and strengthening commercial cooperation between Brazil and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The Congolese delegation’s interest in pig production shows the potential of Rondônia’s agricultural sector and opens the way for future partnerships, knowledge exchange and business development.
